California’s Self-Determination Program gives participants greater choice, flexibility, and control over the services and supports they receive.

But greater choice can also mean more decisions, more coordination, and a process that can sometimes feel complicated.

That’s where WayPoint comes in. We help participants and families understand their options, prepare for important decisions, and navigate the people, processes, and paperwork involved in building a person-centered SDP plan. 

You set the destination. We help you navigate the path. 

There is no single “right” Self-Determination plan. Every participant has different goals, abilities, relationships, interests, support needs, and ideas about what a meaningful life looks like.

That’s why our work begins with the person—not the paperwork. We listen first. We help identify what matters. Then we work alongside the participant and their support team to translate those priorities into practical next steps.

Person-Centered: The participant’s goals, preferences, strengths, and choices guide the process.

Practical: We help turn ideas into actionable plans, budgets, services, and next steps.

Collaborative: We work with participants, families, Regional Centers, Financial Management Services, providers, and other members of the participant’s chosen team.

Independent: Our role is to help participants understand their options and make informed choices—not to make those choices for them.
