Independent Facilitation is more than helping with paperwork. WayPoint works alongside participants and families to turn goals, needs and possibilities into an actionable Self-Determination plan—and helps keep that plan working throughout the year.
From person-centered planning and individual budgets to provider coordination, FMS implementation and ongoing check-ins, we help you navigate the details while keeping you in control.
Self-Determination doesn't mean doing everything yourself.
Participants remain at the center of the process, but families and trusted supporters can play important roles when the participant chooses to involve them.
WayPoint helps the participant and their chosen support network establish clear roles, responsibilities and boundaries; understand the SDP process; prepare for decisions and meetings; organize documentation; identify when something needs escalation; and gradually transfer responsibility to the participant wherever greater independence is appropriate.
California defines an Independent Facilitator as someone selected and directed by the participant who may assist with individual-budget decisions, person-centered planning, identifying needs and options, coordinating services and supports, and advocating for the participant during development of the IPP.
At WayPoint, we turn those responsibilities into a practical support model built around the participant and their chosen team.
